The printer gives an error print: what to do

There are cases when the printer does not print the document. There is paper in the tray, but it doesn't work. Or gives out blank paper or sheets with smeared spots. Let's find out what to do.

The printer has a print error: reasons

There are several main reasons why the printer gives errors:

1. Outdated or missing driver.
2. Stuck contacts.
3. The printer is not properly connected.
4. The wrong settings are set.
5. There is no ink in the cartridge.
6. It is possible that several devices are connected to the computer at once, and it cannot identify one.

Important! Most types of errors can be solved at home without taking the printer to a service center.

How to fix print error

The repair process will depend on the type of error. For example, if the problem is in the driver (usually in 90% of cases) we do the following:

1. Go to the "Start", "Control Panel" section "Devices and Printers."
2. We will have a window with all the devices that are currently connected to the computer. We are looking for the right to us.
3. Check the icon. If it is green, then the problem is not in the driver. We are looking for another reason.
4. If the cause is in the driver, it needs to be reinstalled. Included must be a driver disk. If there is no disk, the utility can be downloaded from the Internet.
5. After completing several installation steps (this will help the installation wizard), we try to print the sheet.

Perhaps the reason for the wire. Standard wires often have a poor transmission speed. At times, to transfer documentation to other equipment you have to wait more than an hour. If you encounter such a problem, you should buy a cable equipped with ferrite rings. The wire is more stable and can quickly transfer documents (transfer speed is 5 times faster).

Attention! The cable may also be damaged. The plug may be broken or the contacts stuck. Here it is better to contact the service center.

Check equipment properties. If the Print Error window is displayed, do the following:

1. Go to the "Start". Open the "Printers and Faxes".
2. We are looking for the right equipment. Click on it with the right mouse button.
3. We will highlight the menu where you need to select the line "Properties".
4. A window will appear there. We are looking for the section "Data Exchange".
5. There we select "Disable".
6. Restart hardware.

Another method is to find an image of the equipment, double-click it with the left mouse button. Check in what mode the equipment operates. If it highlights that offline, change the parameter. Do the following:

1. Go to the "Devices and Printers."
2. We will highlight the window where you need to select the device.
3. Click on it. A window pops up where you need to remove the check mark next to the line “Work offline”.
4. Make sure the queue is cleared and restart the equipment.

If there is no ink in the cartridge, modern devices should report this. But not all devices have such a function. You can download from the Internet application to check the cartridge for the amount of ink. If there is no paint, refer the item to the service center. If you can refill the cartridge, you can do it at home using a syringe. Just fill it with ink and pour it through the appropriate hole.

It is possible that several printers are connected to the computer at the same time, and it is impossible to determine which text to output to. Do the following:

1. Open the "Devices and Printers."
2. It will display a window, with all the currently connected devices.
3. We are looking for the device we need. Make sure it is connected (see status).
4. Click on the printer with the right mouse button, and select the line "Use by default".
5. A green check mark should appear near the device. If it is pale, the computer cannot detect the device.

Check the connection. Perhaps the error appeared recently (before the printer worked properly). Restart the device and computer. Inspect the wires for damage.

Important! Very often a print error occurs if the wrong printer is selected (that is, several are connected at once, and the computer does not see the one we need). But still a driver error is a more common phenomenon.

If all of the steps listed did not help, there is a possibility that one of the parts of the equipment failed. The device will have to be taken to a service center. Try also to check the operation of the USB-connector on the computer. Just plug in the USB flash drive to make sure it works.
